Learning Outcomes

This unit extends from Week 4 through 8 covering respiratory, endocrine, renal, and integumentary systems. The exam is on March 15th online.

At the end of unit two, students will be able to:

  • Identify and describe acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, renal, and endocrine conditions including pathophysiology, presenting signs and symptoms, etiology and contributing factors, sequelae and progression, and goals of nursing management
  • Compare and contrast acute versus chronic disease illness related to the respiratory system and pulmonary function; endocrine system; and related to renal disease and renal failure
  • Identify key nursing management strategies for patients with pulmonary diseases and respiratory failure; endocrine disorders; and for patient with renal disease
  • Categorize appropriate nursing care planning (assessment, diagnosis, goals, interventions, evaluation) related to the patient with respiratory, renal, or endocrine system disorders
  • Identify and describe critical care related care of the burn patient including pathophysiology, presenting signs and symptoms, etiology and contributing factors, sequelae and progression, and goals of nursing management
  • Identify key nursing management strategies and categorize appropriate nursing care planning (assessment, diagnosis, goals, interventions, evaluation) related to the patient with integumentary issues or burns.
